Love them or hate them, Third party or Knock offs will be ever present in the collection hobby. Knock offs can be dodgy if they are meant to mislead people into buying what they think is the genuine article. Sunstar's Seeker Sanctuary does collect Knock Offs (from time to time) with intent on trying to compare the differences between the genuine article.
Some Knock offs provide figures in different variants that Hasbro or Takara never would do, such as the ghost and black WST type toys. Third Party manufacturers also create figures based off characters from the comics or even cartoons that most likely would never see the light of day otherwise. These manufacturers are not out to deceive but to provide a product that could easily be a collection centerpiece.
